A media internship is needed to complete the Journalism Studies major or minor, and it can be done during the fall, spring or summer semesters. The requirements for the internship include performing original journalistic production work and completing a minimum of 200 hours on the job. You must complete JOUR 203 before your internship.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
Once you find an internship opportunity, here are the steps to move forward:
- Fill out the Internship Agreement Form and meet with Dale Rice to have it approved.
- Sign up for 3 hours of JOUR 484 for the semester that you will be performing the internship.
- Have your supervisor for the position email firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm your job duties and how many hours you will be working.
- When the internship is completed, have your supervisor complete the Internship Evaluation Form and then turn it in to Dale Rice.
